A Message From Your Principal—2019

I would like to thank all the students, parents, faculty, staff, and entire Northlake community for helping Northlake Middle School be the best school possible. Parents, you will have many opportunities to meet with our wonderful staff and learn about the exciting programs our school has to offer: Open House, Parent Teacher Conferences, Coffee with the Principal, High School Night, Family Math and STEAM Night, Family Reading Night, and our Annual Science Olympiad. We would love your presence and support.
Our students will have the opportunity to embrace cooperative learning while our teachers use best practice to guide instruction. Our staff collaborates weekly and incorporates data-driven decisions to ensure that each student reaches his or her full potential. Additionally, we work diligently as a staff to model the positive behaviors and expectations that we would like to instill in all of our students. Our students STRUT their stuff here at Northlake Middle School. The 5 P’s guide our high expectations: Prompt, Prepared, Pay Attention, Positive, and Persevere.
We invite and encourage all of our parents to maintain open lines of communication with all of our teachers. Their contact information can be found by visiting the Berkeley School District 87 website: www.berkeley87.org. We also like to remind parents the importance of monitoring their child’s progress using Family Access. Your partnership plays a vital role in the academic success and growth of your child. Together, we can make a difference.
Beyond the extensive efforts in the classroom, students will have an opportunity to firmly engross themselves in various extracurricular activities: Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Basketball, Cheerleading, Student Council, STEM, News Video Club, Chess Club, and Soccer Club. Please encourage your son or daughter to participate in the various extracurricular programs to sharpen their skills, build on their knowledge, and reap the rewards of teamwork.
Parents, please keep in mind that it takes a village to raise a child. We encourage all of our parents to help support our commitment to academic excellence and student experience by joining the PTO or becoming a parent volunteer. If you are interested in joining the PTO or volunteering your time, please give us a call at (708) 449-3195.
We at Northlake Middle School look forward to a great school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mody—Principal
Mrs. Hendricks—Assistant Principal
